Introducing BTC Machine Staking: A New Era for Ordinal Holders

The Bitcoin ecosystem is buzzing with excitement as BTC Machine (@btcordinal), one of the original ordinal projects, rolls out its highly anticipated staking feature. If you’re a holder of a BTC Machine — or one of its related assets like Mutant Machine, BTC GOD, or ZBIT Machine — this is your chance to unlock new earning potential while staying deeply connected to the innovative world of Bitcoin ordinals. Let’s dive into what this new staking mechanism means for the community and how you can get involved.

What Is BTC Machine Staking?

BTC Machine staking is a fresh opportunity for owners of these unique digital assets to put their holdings to work. With only 777 BTC Machines ever created—all inscribed as sub-100k ordinals—this project has already cemented its status as a pioneer in the ordinal space. Now, staking takes it a step further by allowing holders to earn rewards in two rune tokens: $ZBIT and $DOG. So you get the number 1 utility token $ZBIT and the number 1 meme token $DOG – if you stake your machine.

The staking process in being facilitated through @pwerxyz – the satoria ingame marketplace.

How Does Staking Work?

Here’s the breakdown of how BTC Machine staking operates:

Soft Staking: This is a soft staking system, meaning you retain full control over your ordinals at all times. Your BTC Machine never leaves your wallet—you simply opt in to staking and start earning rewards without locking up your assets.

Flexible Reward Claims: You can claim your staking rewards anytime you like. Whether it’s $ZBIT from the pool, $DOG from daily mining, or your share of PWER fees, the choice is yours—claim daily, weekly, or whenever it suits you.

Ownership Verification for $ZBIT from PWER: To prevent people who sell their ordinals from claiming staking rewards they’re no longer entitled to, every $ZBIT withdrawal from the PWER Marketplace requires verification via your connected Xverse wallet.

This ensures you still own your Machine at the time of claiming. If you no longer hold the ordinal, any unclaimed rewards tied to that specific Machine will be redistributed among the remaining stakers, keeping the system fair and active.

Staking Rewards

Stakers will earn rewards in two runes: $ZBIT and $DOG

$ZBIT Rewards: Stakers will share in a pool of 1,000,000 $ZBIT distributed evenly over the first 12 months. Plus, stakers will also receive 2% of the PWER Marketplace fees, both during and after the initial 12-month period, ensuring long-term, substainable earning potential.

$DOG Rewards: Simply by holding a BTC Machine, you’re already mining 25 $DOG daily – since bitcoin block 840000. Staking doesn’t change this—it just adds to your earning potential. The $DOG rewards are taken from the teams vault – they recieved more than 150mil $DOG from the initial airdrop and giving some back to the community.

How to Get Started

Getting ready to stake your BTC Machine is straight forward:

  1. Own a Qualifying Asset: You’ll need a BTC Machine, Mutant Machine, BTC GOD, or ZBIT Machine ordinal in your wallet. With only 777 BTC Machines (+100 other assets) in existence, securing one now is key—they’re a rare commodity!
  2. Claim Your Machine Staker Item: Head over to the PWER website, login with your satoria account and connect your Xverse wallet with the Machine ordinal.

Once connected, claim the “Machine Staker” item tied to your asset to opt into staking.

For a detailed intruction how to claim your staking item in PWER – check out this post on X where I describe it in detail: LINK
  3. Stake and Earn: Once staking is live (could be every day from now on), your claimed assets will start earning $ZBIT and $DOG.

How Much Could You Earn?

Let’s crunch some numbers assuming 300 of the 777 BTC Machine holders participate in staking, based on last year’s pre-pre-alpha phase data where the PWER Marketplace hit a trading volume of around 250,000 $ZBIT per month. At an all-time high (ATH) price of $4 per $ZBIT, that monthly volume translates to $1,000,000 USD (250,000 $ZBIT × $4).

2% of PWER Fees Calculation: With a monthly volume of $1,000,000, 2% is $20,000 USD per month. Split among 300 stakers, that’s approximately $66.67 USD per staker per month from fees—or about 16.67 $ZBIT monthly at the ATH price of $4. Annually, this amounts to $800 USD (12 × $66.67) or 200 $ZBIT per staker (12 × 16.67).

First-Year Bonus: During the first 12 months, the 1,000,000 $ZBIT pool adds significant value. Divided among 300 stakers, that’s approximately 3,333 $ZBIT per staker over the year (1,000,000 ÷ 300). At $4 per $ZBIT, that’s an additional $13,332 USD per staker in the first year.

Total First-Year Potential: Combining the 2% fees ($800) and the $ZBIT pool ($13,332), each staker could earn around $14,132 USD in the first year, assuming the ATH price and pre-pre-alpha monthly volume hold steady.
After the first 12 months, the 2% PWER fee continues indefinitely. If the marketplace sustains 250,000 $ZBIT monthly, that’s a steady $800 USD per staker per year (or 200 $ZBIT at $4). If volume doubles to 500,000 $ZBIT monthly, the 2% fee would yield $40,000 USD per month total, or about $133.33 USD per staker per month ($1,600 USD annually), showing the potential for growth.

NOTE: At current prices (all runes are down bad (25th march 2025)) it’s less. Above is an optimistic calculation at prices we already saw and volume we already had last year. This is no financial adivse – always do your own research!

Why This Matters

This staking initiative isn’t just about earning rewards—it’s a bold step toward enhancing the utility of Bitcoin ordinals. By integrating staking with $ZBIT and $DOG, BTC Machine bridges the gap between collectible assets and functional DeFi-like opportunities. The perpetual 2% PWER fees and ownership verification ensure a sustainable, fair model for long-term value.

Final Thoughts

BTC Machine staking is shaping up to be a game-changer for ordinal enthusiasts. With immediate $DOG rewards, a generous $ZBIT pool for the first year, and ongoing 2% PWER Marketplace fees tied to a potentially massive monthly volume, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
